Tucheng Ammunition Depot

The Tucheng Ammunition Depot was established in 1950 and was once one of the largest ammunition depot complexes in northern Taiwan. Located in the mountainous area on the northern foothills of the Tianshang Mountain Range, it was designated as a restricted military zone for many years due to the large amount of military ordnance stored within. With the development of the Taipei-New Taipei metropolitan area, the Tucheng Ammunition Depot, originally located in the suburbs, gradually became adjacent to residential areas. Consequently, relocation began in 1998, and specific areas within the restricted zone were gradually opened to the public. Thanks to years of military control, the area has maintained a well-preserved natural environment. It now features Teacher Liu's Nature Classroom, making it an excellent destination for urban residents to experience harvesting fruits and vegetables.
