The entrance to Wubankeng (Pit No. 5) was excavated in Showa Year 2 (1927). At that time, the ore transported from the pit entrance was crushed using an aerial conveyor system that led to a crushing plant downhill (next to the former Songde Activity Center). A light railway also passed in front of the pit entrance. It was originally operated by the Japanese, and after the Retrocession of Taiwan, it was contracted by Jiuda Company. Mining operations at the entire mine ceased in 1971. To protect the safety of residents and visitors, all mine shafts have been sealed. In front, there is a small community park platform for recreation, offering views of the Shen'ao Cape seascape.
