Discover Jimuling

Jimuling is located in the mountainous forest area northwest of Gongliao District. This quaint mountain village has a history of over 200 years. In earlier times, pheasants gathered here in large numbers, and it was named Jimuling based on its Hokkien pronunciation. It was once an an important stronghold on the northern route of the Tamsui-Kavalan Old Trail – the Yang Ting-li Ancient Trail. To the west, one could reach Canguangliao; and to the southeast, it connected to Aodi. After arduous reclamation efforts by Jimuling's ancestors, they cultivated expansive terraced rice paddies covering 200 jia, which became Jimuling's iconic landscape.
