Visitor Essentials
The Taishan Yixuekeng Trail is located behind Mingzhi Academy. Mingzhi Academy, known as the 'Premier Academy of Northern Taiwan', was originally a free school (yixue) founded by Hu Cho-yu, a gongsheng (tribute student) during the Qing Dynasty, who donated the land. A thriving literary atmosphere flourished there, and 'Yixue' eventually became the place name for this area. The Yixuekeng Trail is equipped with complete stone steps and elevated wooden staircases. The entire trail is approximately 800 meters long, with ancient trees providing shade and lush greenery along the way.
