Gongsitian Creek Bicycle Path

Gongsitian Creek, commonly known as Beitou Creek, was named for flowing through 'Gongsitian' (Company Field). In the past, it was also called Linzai Creek and is playfully referred to by locals as the 'Mother River of Tamsui'. The area around Gongsitian Creek was formerly known as 'Dazhuang'. Along its route are relics of Tamsui's development history, making it arguably the earliest Han Chinese settlement in northern Taiwan, with its origins dating back to the Dutch colonial period.
