National Taipei University was formerly the College of Law and Business of National Chung Hsing University. In 2000, it became an independent institution in Sanxia, New Taipei City. Its campus spans 60 hectares and is home to seven colleges: the College of Law, College of Business, College of Public Affairs, College of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science, College of Humanities, College of Social Sciences, and the College of Sustainable Innovation and International Programs. National Taipei University is adjacent to Sanxia's landmark, Mount Yen (Wenshan), and thus adopted the black kite as its symbol, establishing the Flying Kite Plaza in the campus's southwest corner. The Sanying Line MRT track bridge, which crosses the Flying Kite Plaza, was designed to incorporate local Sanxia elements, featuring a faux-brick and arched exterior known as the 'Nostalgic Corridor,' making it a new landmark on campus.
