Tamsui Chongjian Street

Chongjian Street is Tamsui's first commercial street. Many well-known figures in Tamsui's political, financial, and educational circles have resided here for generations. Chongjian Street was originally a winding historical street, five to six hundred meters long. The terraced community built along the mountainside was the 'Upper Street' during the old Hobe Street era. It flourished from the late 19th century to the mid-20th century, making it the best street for visitors to experience the unique atmosphere of Tamsui's hill town.
