Fengshuhu

Fengshuhu is located on the western side of the Datun Mountain Range. It is currently the only area in Taiwan with large groves of Oyama magnolia (also known as tree lotus). The Oyama magnolia, commonly known as the 'lotus growing on a tree', has been revered and cherished by Buddhists for centuries. It is also a highly valuable medicinal and spice plant, making it quite precious. The flowers have been cultivated for over 50 years, and through the meticulous care of local farmers, thousands of Oyama magnolias have been widely planted. The Oyama magnolia's shape resembles a lotus throne, and it is not common in Taiwan. Currently, it can only be seen at Chung Tai Chan Monastery, Alishan, and Fo Guang Shan, but large-scale cultivation is exclusively found in Tamsui's Fengshuhu. Don't miss Taipei's most mysterious and precious sea of flowers! Fengshuhu has no lake; its name originated from the six giant Formosan sweetgum trees that stood at its entrance in earlier times. Additionally, because it is surrounded by mountains on three sides, resembling a lake in shape, it was named Fengshuhu.
