Houtong Cat Office

Houtong was once a thriving coal mining area. After the decline of the mining industry, it gradually fell silent. Today, it has transformed into a cat village and developed tourism, becoming an internationally renowned destination for cat lovers. In April 2021, Houtong established the preparatory office for the Cat Village Office, aiming to enhance the cat village's care capabilities. It offers various services for Houtong's street cats, such as creating 'ID cards,' conducting 'cat household registrations,' and establishing medical stations. In late April 2024, the Houtong Cat Village Office was officially inaugurated.
