Dacukeng Historic Trail

Dacukeng Historic Trail was an early connecting road from Houtong to Dacukeng and Jiufen. Dacukeng was a mining community with nearly a century of gold mining history. In the past, Jiufen was known as 'Little Shanghai,' while Dacukeng was called 'Little America.' During its heyday, three thousand people resided here, and Houtong Elementary School's Dashan Branch was established to facilitate the education of children from Dacukeng. Today, its prosperity has faded, and both the school buildings and the community have become historical traces.
