Milingan Musical Theater

'Milingan' means 'storytelling' in the Paiwan language (Miling'an). Drawing on the mythical spirit of mutual care and cherishing among indigenous ancestral spirits, the land, and its people, it implicitly conveys the importance of humility, cherishing blessings, and protecting the land for humanity today. Milingan is not a single performance event. Each performance, whether in spirit or substance, is a connection between the past and the present. People, songs, and language from the Paiwan tribe will continuously internalize the wisdom of ancestral spirits and life stories, then connect them with modern societal thoughts and issues, allowing the stories of this land to be told and sung for generations to come.
