Shifen Scenic Area (Shifen Visitor Center)

The Shifen Scenic Area is located in Pingxi District, New Taipei City, renowned for its waterfalls, the Pingxi Line mini-train, and sky lanterns. Geographically, it is situated along the main stream of the Keelung River, belonging to the waterfall and valley type among Taiwan's scenic areas. Due to erosion at its source and the surrounding incised topography, numerous faults and unique rock formations have been created. As river water flows over these faults and unusual rocks, its high speed results in many spectacular waterfalls.
