Peng Garden is a Japanese-style building. Originally, during the Japanese colonial period, it served as the Taiyang Company's Second Club, equipped with entertainment facilities such as a martial arts hall, billiards, and table tennis rooms. It also functioned as a training institute for Taiyang Company's mining technical staff. After World War II, it was repurposed as the hospital affiliated with Taiyang Company's Ruifang Gold Mine. Following the cessation of operations at the Jiufen Mine, it was converted into Peng Surgical Hospital. After the passing of its director, Peng Qing-huo, it was renamed Peng Garden in his memory.
