Visitor Essentials
The Guandu Bridge is an important transportation hub connecting Bali District in New Taipei City and Guandu in Taipei City. It is located approximately 6 kilometers from the mouth of the Tamsui River. Prior to the opening of the Danjiang Bridge, it was the last bridge over the Tamsui River before it flows into the sea. The Guandu Bridge is Asia's first fully welded steel arch bridge. It spans 809 meters in length, and its roadway is 14.5 meters wide with four lanes. The bridge was completed and opened for use in 1983, significantly shortening travel times between Bali and Wugu to Tamsui and Beitou. Its parabolic red steel arch design also makes the Guandu Bridge a famous landmark on the Tamsui River.
