Shuangxi Station, located in Shuangxi District, New Taipei City, was formerly known as 'Ting Shuangxi Station'. It has two island platforms. Originally a wooden station about 35 meters above sea level, it was later rebuilt into a concrete station building due to the flourishing coal mining industry, increasing passenger numbers, and growing passenger and freight business, to meet operational demands. Shuangxi Station's platforms and track bed are relatively high, and the section between it and Mudan Station is a steep slope with a gradient of 16 per thousand, known by railway enthusiasts as the 'Mudan Slope'.
