Visitor Essentials

Qitang Old Street, located above the Gold Museum, was a commercial and trading center for early miners. During the Japanese colonial period, it was a settlement built by Taiwanese people who leased land from Japanese mining companies. Because it belongs to the Tongshan Li (Copper Mountain Village) area of Jinguashi, it is also known as 'Jinguashi Ginza' or 'Jinguashi Old Street'. It is a settlement built along the mountain contours, and some residents still live here. Though also a mountain town, compared to Jiufen Old Street, it lacks a strong commercial atmosphere, has few tourists, and retains the original appearance of a small mountain town.
