Wulai Sightseeing Trolley

The Wulai Trolley, located in Wulai District, New Taipei City, was initially used solely for transporting timber. Due to the development of tourism at Wulai Waterfall and the demand from visitors, passenger services officially began in 1963, with trolleys manually pushed by staff. To accommodate the increasing number of visitors, it was mechanized in 1974, using diesel engines to power the trolleys. Then, in 1987, overcoming many difficulties, a tunnel was excavated at the Waterfall Station to replace the original turntable turnaround, and it has been in use ever since.
