Sanchong Air Force First Village

Embodying the spirit of 'Be dignified and self-reliant, remain calm in the face of change,' Sanchong Air Force First Village, located near the Tamsui River, covers an area of approximately 1.38 hectares. It is the only remaining anti-aircraft artillery dependents' village in northern Taiwan. In 2006, it was designated as a historical building, marking it as the first cultural asset of its kind in New Taipei City. During the Japanese colonial period, the Japanese military constructed six anti-aircraft gun emplacements here to defend against Allied air raids. In 1953, using these gun positions as its core, dozens of dependents' housing units were successively built. Later, due to its proximity to the Tamsui River, the village frequently suffered damage from natural disasters like typhoons and floods. Through continuous renovations and reconstructions, it has evolved into the appearance seen today.
