Lukūpíng Ancient Trail

The Lukūpíng Ancient Trail is a passage between small villages on the North Coast and Taipei, a small mountain-crossing trail. From Wanli, after passing through Zhongfu Village and entering Kanjiao Village, there is a fork in the road. You can go uphill towards Daping Elementary School. Follow the signs, turn right, pass Daping Elementary School, then turn left at the bus stop to reach the entrance of Lukūpíng. The surroundings are covered with sweet potato fields. Go straight along the small path next to the ditch, where you'll see a few old houses. Soon, you will arrive at a Tudigong Temple (Earth God Temple). This area is already under the jurisdiction of Yangmingshan National Park. Follow the small path next to the irrigation canal to enter. Along the way, the stream water gurgles, the scenery is beautiful, and Taiwan cypress trees stand tall, making it an excellent spot for forest bathing. Continuing straight ahead, you will see another fork in the road. The upward path leads towards the Lukūpíng summit, from where you can ascend to the top. However, the trail is steep with a nearly 70-degree incline. Although climbing with the aid of branches and ropes is possible, it is not recommended for those with poor physical fitness to attempt it. If you proceed along the other section of the path, it leads towards Upper Lukūpíng. Here, terraced fields, with stacked stones forming fertile land, stretch out. Unfortunately, it is no longer cultivated, but the fields are lush green, the scenery is beautiful, and this section of the ancient trail is relatively flat.
