Visitor Essentials
The Fushi Ancient Trail is located in Wanli District, New Taipei City. Due to its path along the southeastern ridge of Dajian Mountain, it is also known as the "Dajian Ancient Trail." Dajian Mountain is a conical volcanic remnant, bearing a strong resemblance to Japan's Mount Fuji, hence its nickname "Little Mount Fuji," which is the origin of the "Fushi" (Fuji) name for the trail. At the entrance of the ancient trail, there is a monument detailing its origins. It was a mountain path developed during the Japanese colonial era with the expansion of cattle grazing areas around Huangzui Mountain, created to facilitate livestock farming for residents and to connect with other trails like the Yulu Ancient Trail and Wanxi Ancient Trail.
