Visitor Essentials
Yingge, renowned as Taiwan's Jingdezhen, is a major hub for ceramic craftsmanship in the country. The Yingge Ceramics Old Street was officially named in 2000. Following guidance and planning from the New Taipei City Government, old ceramic factories in Yingge were transformed into shops and DIY spaces. 'Turning clay into gold' perfectly encapsulates the spirit of this area, where a dazzling array of pottery boutiques converge in the district formed by Ceramics Street, Jianshanpu Road, Chongqing Street, and Yuying Street. Walking through Yingge Old Street, one can appreciate the rich aesthetic of pottery integrated into everything from streetscapes and intersection designs to traffic signs.
