Bali (Ferry Pier) Old Street

Bali, located on the left bank of the Tamsui River estuary, developed earlier than Tamsui on the right bank. In the mid-Qing Dynasty, Bali became Northern Taiwan's first official port, with regular crossings and trade with Fuzhou and Quanzhou in Fujian. With the influx of numerous immigrants from Fujian, Bali experienced a period of flourishing commerce. Later, due to waterway silting, Bali Port's status was gradually replaced by Tamsui. Today, Bali Ferry Pier Old Street serves as Bali's gateway for maritime transport, gathering many restaurants and snack vendors. Coupled with the riverside parks, green spaces, and open-air cafes, Bali has become the most charming leisure destination on the left bank.
