Visitor Essentials

The old oil depot engine room next to Tamsui First Fishing Port, long-abandoned and having endured 60 years, was transformed on February 14, 2007, into the 'Tamsui Fisheries Life and Culture Image Museum' with white walls and green window frames. A large green retro mailbox stands in front of the entrance. Inside, an old red fuel pump, which once supplied fuel to fishing boats, is still perfectly preserved on the walls. The museum also exhibits many black-and-white postcards of Tamsui scenery, which are long-term works by curator Ah-Zhong, who imbues his deep affection for Tamsui into each photograph depicting the town's past charm. Outside the museum is the scenery of the 'Fishing Harbor Shadow Embankment,' one of Tamsui's Eight Scenic Spots.
