Tamsui Red House

The 'Tamsui Red House' earned its name due to its colonial-style red brick architecture. Construction began in 1895 and was completed in 1899. It has undergone several renovations, even transforming from a red house to a yellow house. However, after renovations by subsequent owners in 2000, it reverted to its red house appearance and was converted into the Red House Restaurant. Although it is not a government-designated historical monument, observing its construction and renovation history across various periods, it can be said to symbolize the prosperity of 'Golden Tamsui' and bears witness to Tamsui's development over the past century.
