Gongsitianxi Cheng Family Ancestral Home

The Gongsitianxi Cheng Family Ancestral Home, located in Tamsui District, New Taipei City, is a well-preserved traditional building with a rich history, showcasing the characteristics and cultural atmosphere of Southern Fujian-style architecture from nearly a century ago in Tamsui. The development of the Gongsitianxi area can be traced back to the Dutch era, and the Cheng Family Ancestral Home is the only remaining farmhouse in the region. Surrounded by bamboo and reeds, with irrigation channels flowing nearby, it is a well-preserved, representative example of the sanheyuan (three-sided courtyard) style from the old agricultural society, bearing witness to the history of Tamsui's development.
