Visitor Essentials

Located in an alley off Tamsui Old Street, Tamsui Longshan Temple is hidden within a market. It is one of the five existing Longshan Temples in Taiwan. Built in 1858, Tamsui Longshan Temple primarily enshrines Guanyin Bodhisattva (Goddess of Mercy). This narrow, shophouse-style temple once had a spacious front plaza and a garden courtyard at the back. It served not only as one of Tamsui's religious centers but also had functions in local governance and self-defense. Together with Qingshui Temple, Yingshan Temple, and Fuyou Temple, it is collectively known as the 'Four Great Temples of Tamsui'.
