Located directly opposite Tucheng MRT Station, Tucheng Guangchengyan Temple was founded in 1969 (58th year of the Minguo calendar). Master Chuanbin, a disciple of Elder Monk Guangqin, served as its first abbot. In 1978 (67th year of the Minguo calendar), buildings such as the Huazang Pagoda, Main Hall (Daxiong Baodian), and Sutra Repository were expanded, utilizing the topography of the small hill. The current Guangchengyan Temple is a modernized building constructed in 1994 (83rd year of the Minguo calendar). This reconstruction was necessitated by the widening and renovation of Jincheng Road, which led to the expropriation of about 1000 ping of the original temple land (over 1400 ping), forcing it to be rebuilt as a multi-story building. Nevertheless, its exterior still preserves traditional temple-style architecture.
