Jinguashi Shrine (Golden Shrine)

The Jinguashi Shrine was established on March 2, Meiji 31 (1898). It was built by Tanaka Chōbei (Tanaka Gumi), the mining operator at the time. Given the frequent bandit activity and employee unrest at the beginning of the Jinguashi mining operations, a shrine was constructed at the eastern end of Jinguashi Main Mountain to stabilize morale.
