Shigongjitou Mountain, located at the junction of Pingxi, Pinglin, and Shiding districts in New Taipei City, is the source of the Keelung River, Beishi River, and Xindian River. It is named because from a distance, the mountain resembles the hair bun tail of a Taoist priest (pronounced 'Shigong' in Taiwanese). It is also known as Huoshaoliao Mountain and is the highest peak among the Shiding mountain range. Most people start their journey from the historic Nanshan Temple (commonly known as Xianggong Temple). From the temple's front, visitors can enjoy views of sea of clouds, tea plantations, and Dashi Lake.
