Visitor Essentials

Magang Fishing Port, located in Gongliao District, New Taipei City, is Taiwan's easternmost fishing village. It is adjacent to the Northern Coastal Highway, right on the coast directly below Sanjiao Cape Lighthouse. Nearby, there are the Lailai Rock Fishing Ground and Magang Rock Fishing Ground, both suitable for rock fishing. Sanjiao Cape Lighthouse is located on the mountain behind it, making it a fishing port with an excellent geographical location. Most fishing boats from Magang Port operate in the waters around Guishan Island and Sanjiao Bay fishing grounds, engaging in coastal/nearshore fishing and returning on the same day. Main catches include sea bream, bonito, squid, cuttlefish, lobster, and others. Half of the catch is sold locally, while the other half is transported to Keelung City markets for auction or to processing plants for processing.
