Shifen Old Street

Shifen, located in Pingxi District, New Taipei City, is considered the earliest developed and largest settlement in the area. The Pingxi Line, a railway branch line originally built for coal mining, winds along the Keelung River valley. After the rapid decline of coal mining, it connected several charming old streets, including Shifen, Pingxi, and Jingtong. The main feature here is that the old street and the train tracks are connected, allowing visitors to experience the novel sensation of "trains passing right in front of you" and the unique fun of strolling alongside the tracks while shopping. It is also a popular filming location for many movies and idol dramas.
