The Yin-Yang Sea, located north of Shuinandong Village in Ruifang District, New Taipei City, is famous for its unique golden-yellow and azure waters, and is a special geological landscape in Taiwan's Northeast Coast. The distinctive yellow and blue gradient beauty of the Yin-Yang Sea is attributed to the nearby Jinguashi mountain, which is rich in pyrite. After weathering, the pyrite forms copper and iron ions. These ions dissolve in the water, forming ferric hydroxide, which then absorbs sediment and creates yellowish-brown suspended matter. The seawater in the bay appears yellowish-brown due to these natural minerals, creating a stark contrast with the blue seawater of the outer ocean, truly earning it the title of a natural color palette!
