Erkeng Tunnel

Yingge District in New Taipei City offers a total of eighteen hiking trails, perfect for outdoor enthusiasts. The Erkeng Tunnel is situated near Ying Shi Ting (Ying Stone Pavilion) along the Sunlong Trail. It previously served as a light rail track (a coal transport railway), used for moving coal to and from the nearby Wu-Yi Coal Mine Second Pit, which has been closed for many years. The section of the light rail where this small tunnel is located was originally a particularly sharp curve.
