Visitor Essentials

Bi-Long Temple is a rare "Turtle God Temple" in Taiwan, whose origin lies in a stone inside the temple shaped like a turtle. It is known as the "Turtle God Temple." Legend has it that many years ago, a father and son surnamed Zeng discovered a peculiar stone under a tree that resembled a large turtle with Bagua (Eight Trigrams) patterns on its back. Mr. Zeng, the father, believed it possessed spiritual power and consequently bowed and prayed to it. His long-standing illness soon recovered. To express gratitude for the turtle stone's blessing, the Zeng father and son built a temple to enshrine it. The Turtle God Stone is also respectfully referred to as the Bagua Patriarch or Emperor Fuxi, becoming a unique deity of worship in Taiwan.
