Former Jinshan Airport Site

The Former Jinshan Airport Site originated during the Japanese colonial period, when a small military airfield was built here. However, shortly after its completion, a plane crashed, and it was subsequently abandoned before it was ever officially opened. Today, three large stone wheels remain on the site, which were used by the Japanese army to compact and level the ground during the airport's construction. They are the only surviving remnants. Most of the original airport site has long been converted into farmland (located within the Chongguang Liugu Flower and Horticulture Agricultural Zone). It is a significant national supplier of azalea flowers, with an annual output reaching several million plants. Most of the azaleas in Yangmingshan are transplanted and supplied from this location.
