Yeliu Fishing Harbor is located in Yeliu Village, Wanli District, New Taipei City. It was built utilizing the natural bay on the western side of the Yeliu Peninsula. During the Japanese colonial period, a 100-meter breakwater and simple small piers for small boats were already constructed. After the Retrocession of Taiwan, the government dispatched personnel to survey and propose a renovation plan. Subsequently, Yeliu Fishing Harbor gradually expanded. Furthermore, due to the opening of Interchange 8 of the Sun Yat-sen Freeway, fishery products from this area no longer needed to enter Keelung City and could directly access the freeway. This greatly expanded the distribution range of this port area, breaking through its previous limits, and making Yeliu Fishing Harbor even more important in the fishing industry of northern Taiwan.
