Xinzhuang Guangfu Temple

Xinzhuang Sanshan Guowang Temple was donated and built by Cantonese people in the 45th year of Qianlong (1780 AD). It is the earliest temple built in Northern Taiwan for the Hakka faith, testifying to the participation of Hakka people in the early immigration and land reclamation of Xinzhuang. Guangfu Temple was formerly known as 'Sanshan Guowang Temple.' Although not the oldest temple in Xinzhuang, it is the only national second-class historic site and the most well-preserved among the four ancient temples on the old street. The Sanshan Guowang (Three Mountain Kings) are the guardian deities of people from Chaozhou, Guangdong. They primarily enshrine three mountain gods: Jinsan, Mingshan, and Dushan. Revered and worshipped by the local Cantonese people, this faith became widespread in the Chaozhou region.
