Shiding Old Street

Shiding Old Street is the earliest developed area in the Shiding region, an important settlement along the Tamsui-Kavalan Historical Trail. Here, the Bengshan River and Wutu River converge to form the Jingmei River. Shiding Old Street is divided into East and West Streets by Wanshou Bridge (N47 Line). West Street developed earlier, known as a hub for cloth dyeing and tea trade. East Street rapidly developed after the rise of the coal mining industry, eventually surpassing West Street in prosperity. The distinctive stilt houses and the 'Street of No Sky' are must-visit attractions on the old street.
