Metering Room

The Metering Room is a square-shaped brick and reinforced concrete building, used for measuring the outflow from the Xiaoguanyinshan Reservoir. Its original construction date and design are unknown due to lost archives. However, research into property registration records indicates that the Metering Room building was completed in March 1913 (Year 2 of the Republic of China) and was retired after the completion of the Gongguan Water Treatment Plant in 1977 (Year 66 of the Republic of China). The building was excavated downwards to fulfill its functional requirements. Its surface features decorative grooved lines, and the corners of the walls show exposed red bricks. The windows and window frames of the Metering Room have a semi-circular arch shape at the top and a square shape at the bottom. This building is presumed to be a new addition after the completion of Taipei's main waterworks project, but it still exhibits overall planning and design consistent with related architectural facilities.
