Guanyinshan Reservoir (Underground Water Palace)

The Guanyinshan Reservoir is one of the designated historic sites within the 'Taipei Waterworks Original Site' architectural complex, boasting over a century of history. Its original function was to store purified drinking water. The facility was decommissioned in 1977 (ROC year 66) after the completion of a new water treatment plant. To boost domestic tourism during the pandemic, it was reopened in 2019 (ROC year 108) and has since become a newly discovered secret attraction in Taipei.
