A monument marking the former site of Bangka Shuixian Temple stands at the intersection of Xichang Street and Guilin Road in Wanhua District. Historically, Bangka grew into a commercially prosperous settlement, relying on water transportation. To ensure the safety of maritime navigation and water transport, Bangka's guild merchants funded the construction of Bangka Shuixian Temple during the Qianlong Emperor's reign in the Qing Dynasty, primarily enshrining Yu the Great (Emperor Yu). Later, due to the temple's old age and damage, coupled with the Japanese government's implementation of urban planning at the time, Shuixian Temple was consequently demolished and relocated, passing into history.
