Leaning Mailboxes

In 2015, Typhoon Soudelor swept across Taiwan. The red and green mailboxes on Longjiang Road in Zhongshan District were affected by strong winds and falling signboards. The mailboxes bent and deformed towards the same side, resembling a person with a 'bent waist'. This attracted many passersby to take photos with them, earning them the nickname 'Leaning Mailboxes,' and they went viral online, becoming an alternative check-in landmark for people to visit and photograph. In addition to their tourist value and historical significance, after assessment and renovation by Chunghwa Post, the Leaning Mailboxes still retain their original function of mailing letters.
