Cherry Blossoms at Lane 42, Pingjing Street

When the Fuyu cherry blossoms first open, their flowers appear a light pinkish-white, then turn pink, and later transform into a deep red. Each flower bud contains 3 to 4 blossoms, and the buds are spaced very closely together. When they bloom simultaneously, the entire branch is adorned with soft, delicate, and charming pink flowers. Most cherry blossom viewing spots in northern Taiwan begin with the cherry blossoms on Pingjing Street in Yangmingshan. Every year between January and February, you can turn left from Lane 71, Section 3, Zhishan Road, Shilin District, to enter Yangmingshan. Along the way, you can admire the blooming Taiwanese cherry blossoms. The cherry blossoms are nestled within the quiet lanes of Yangmingshan. Within Pingdeng Li (Pingdeng Village), there are many leisure and tourist farms offering coffee and refreshments, where visitors can observe farm work, enjoy local dishes, and spend a relaxing time.
