Visitor Essentials

Zhongshan Church is a Christian church built by the Japanese. The arch pillars of its main entrance are inscribed with 'Founded in March 1937'. Originally a Japanese Anglican church known as Taisho-cho Church, it served as a place of worship for Japanese Christians living in the Taisho Street area at the time. Its exterior design mimics British Gothic churches. From a high vantage point, one can see its cross-shaped roof, pointed arches, roof truss cornerstones, and buttresses, all of which are well-preserved and possess significant architectural value.
