Bihu Trail

Located between Lane 131, Dahu Street and Lane 60, Section 3, Neihu Road, the Bihu Trail is a beautiful path hidden amidst residential communities. Due to its rich ecology and historical industrial significance, it was designed as a mountain-friendly trail with educational and recreational functions. It connects to the Dagou Creek Riverside Trail, Yuanjue Temple Trail, and Liyu Mountain Trail, offering convenient access for visitors of all ages. At the trail entrance on Lane 131, Dahu Street, visitors are greeted by a realistic old mining shaft display, featuring an antique mine entrance, tracks, and coal carts, giving the impression of stepping into a real mine. In its early days, coal mining thrived here, and this was the location of the "Xinfu Main Mine," marking a significant chapter in the local industrial development. The trail's terrain is mostly gentle, with only a short section of steep uphill climb. There's also a small platform for exercise and stretching. The path offers a diverse walking experience with wooden planks, gravel, granite blocks, and red bricks underfoot. Along the way, you'll spot one or two small vegetable gardens. The trail winds through residential areas, with ferns, acacia trees, and Phoebe formosana visible everywhere. If you're lucky, you might even see Taiwan Blue Magpies flying through the woods, Crested Serpent Eagles circling in the sky, or even a Red-bellied Squirrel scampering by. The last section of the trail is particularly pleasant. Visitors from out of town will surely envy the residents living here, who can hear the rustling of bamboo from their windows. If you're still eager for more, continuing to Yuanjue Temple, Bishan Temple, and Baishihu is an excellent choice. While immersed in nature, you can also experience the solemn tranquility of the temples.
