Zhaoming Jingsi Temple_Lover's Temple

Zhaoming Jingsi Temple (also known as Zhaoming Temple or Lover's Temple) is situated on a hillside in front of Battleship Rock in Beitou. Surrounded by mountains, it boasts a tranquil environment and an expansive view. From here, one can see the Guandu Plain. Standing and gazing out at the Guandu Plain from this spot immediately brings a sense of open-mindedness and relaxation. The architecture here is quite distinctive; the main temple resembles a spire, with a dragon coiled atop it, giving it a profoundly spiritual feel. The principal deity of Zhaoming Jingsi Temple is the "Four-Faced Thousand-Armed Guanyin," who bestows blessings for health, marriage, light, and wealth. In the past, it displayed wax figures of the Cowherd and Weaver Girl, hence its other name, "Lover's Temple"! Inside the temple are very popular prayer scrolls. You write your wishes on paper and wooden plaques, then worship the Four-Faced Thousand-Armed Guanyin, and deposit the paper into a wish box beside Guanyin. Afterward, you come to the wishing pond. In the wishing pond nearby, there are six bowls, each representing a wish for things like marriage, health, or wealth. To ask for something, toss a few coins into the corresponding bowl and hang your wooden plaque on the adjacent wishing pavilion as a testament. It is said to be very efficacious; praying brings blessings! On the wishing pavilion in the temple plaza, the inscription reads, "True love is unseen by men, false love is known by heaven." This serves as a warning to all lovers in the world to cherish their feelings, avoid insincerity, and hopes that all lovers can become ideal couples.
