Xinbeitou Hot Spring Area

Beitou Hot Springs have been renowned since the Japanese colonial era, and Japanese people, who love hot springs, naturally wouldn't miss them. Takinoyu, Hoshinoyu, and Tetsu no Yu are names given by the Japanese based on the characteristics and therapeutic effects of the springs. They are said to have excellent curative effects for skin diseases, neurodermatitis, asthma, and rheumatism, among other ailments, making Beitou one of the most famous hot spring destinations in northern Taiwan. The hot spring source of Xinbeitou is the Daguhou Hot Spring. The water quality is sulfate, with a pH value between 3 and 4. The water is yellowish-white and semi-transparent, with a temperature of approximately 50-90℃, and carries a slight sulfurous scent. Currently, most of Beitou's hot spring hotels, resorts, and lodges are concentrated along Zhongshan Road and Guangming Road, as well as near Beitou Park and Thermal Valley. Each establishment has its unique characteristics, offering diverse hot spring spa treatments and recreational facilities for visitors to enjoy and rejuvenate. Nearby attractions are also well worth visiting. For example, Geng Song Guan, Hoshinoyu, and Takinoyu – known as the 'Three Treasures of Beitou Hot Springs' – along with Tengu-an Historic Park, which commemorates Taiwan's first hot spring inn, all boast profound historical backgrounds.
