Keelung City's Tianwaitian Landfill was redeveloped into "Tianwaitian Environmental Park" after its closure at the end of Minguo 94 (2005). Located on Peide Road in Xinyi District, Keelung City, it underwent six years and three phases of restoration before being officially inaugurated by the Keelung City Government as Tianwaitian Environmental Park in Minguo 100 (2011). It provides citizens with a recreational space to get close to nature. The park is planted with diverse vegetation, attracting various animal species to inhabit it, creating rich biodiversity. Not only are the lawns lush and green, but flocks of Taiwan Blue Magpies can also be seen flying in the sky, making it suitable for families of all ages to enjoy nature. In the future, the park will be planned for farm-style management, divided into five areas: catering services, free-ranging animals, wild grasslands, floral landscapes, and ecological conservation. Visitors can follow Peide Road uphill; there's a trail leading to the park nearby. Along the trail, there are also some decommissioned environmental operation machines that visitors can view up close. Continuing along the trail, you will pass by the waste recycling (incineration) plant, and then you will arrive.
