Gangzihliao Fort

-Attraction Introduction-Gangzihliao Fort, located at the junction of Xinyi District and Zhongzheng District in Keelung, has stood here since the early Japanese colonial period. Together with Niuchouling Fort, it guarded Badouzi Harbor and protected the safety of the outer harbor. Ascend to the high ground, and the panoramic view opens up, allowing you to take in Keelung Islet, Heping Island, Badouzi, Bitoujiao, and other areas. -Attraction Features-Gangzihliao Fort is a national monument. Military facilities such as gun emplacements, observation areas, barracks, command posts, and storage rooms are still visible today, retaining a strong sense of history. The fort is built on a mountain slope at an altitude of 150 meters, covering an area of about 2 hectares, backed by mountains and facing the sea. The term 'Gangzi' originates from the Ketagalan language, meaning 'trap'. It primarily defended Badouzi and the northern waters of Keelung Harbor. From between the gun emplacements and through the tunnel, you can see Badouzi Harbor. Slowly ascend the path behind the fort area to reach the highest point, where the scenery of Keelung unfolds before your eyes.
