Leisurely Rides: A Small Tour of Guanghua. Guanghua Village was formerly Guanghua Farm, the largest village by area in Ji'an Township. In the 1960s, the Veterans Affairs Council reclaimed barren land on the north bank of the Muguaxi River to establish Guanghua Farm. Retired soldiers, initially living collectively in stone houses, gradually settled down here, making it Taiwan's only remaining soldier-reclaimed farm. The stone field ridges and walls, visible everywhere in the village, along with the farm's main gate archway, bear witness to the arduous times when they had to 'contest land with rivers and seek food from stones'. Welcome to Guanghua! Cycle leisurely along the Pastoral Cycling Trail and, through our most local guided tour, explore the stories of the farm and military dependents' village.
